The Ripple Effect (TRE) is a team of dedicated, community oriented citizens determined to truly affect positive change in our society at large.
The group recognises the difficulties of mobilising community action. Most of us know what we could do to support those in need, and most of us do want to act on our conscience and help improve our society. Unfortunately, we have no faith in our abilities to make a lasting contribution – we doubt the significance of our individual initiatives.
Team TRE wants to change that mindset. Each individual effort can’t ever be downplayed, because the health of our community in question depends on the aggregate effect of each person’s actions. Every single contribution has always mattered. Every individual intention has an impact.
TRE has already gathered a large sum of donations after their first donation drive this March for the Shafqat-e-Swaleha Trust and their prestigious projects – The Elevation School (TES) and Munna Ghar. Munna Ghar is an important shelter for orphan children and single mothers, providing support to fulfil their basic needs. TES is an education institution for underprivileged children and orphans from Munna Ghar, currently schooling 207 children overall. The Shafqat-e-Swaleha Trust’s vision is to ensure the holistic development of every underprivileged child they take in.
TRE has put together an event in TES this Saturday on March 23, with a range of activities and a meal for the children. All the proceeds from their donation drive will also go towards TES’s education and the overall improvement of the orphanage and hygiene standards.
The TRE is already making an impact through the collective efforts of their team and the donations of countless individuals. Their project is in its pilot phase, and they hope to use their platform to organise events around charity work once a month. Be on the lookout for their upcoming initiatives!
