Scuba Adventures Pakistan

Scuba Adventures Pakistan are leaders in the training of non-divers and specialise in giving certified divers more tools and comprehensive training to evolve their skillset and self-reliance as a diver under the guidelines of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI).

Tranquil Motions by Marcel Odenbach

April 6-17: Monday to Saturday at 10AM-6PM

Stop by at the Alliance Francaise in Clifton to catch a remarkable exhibition from one of Germany’s truly acclaimed multimedia makers Marcel Odenbach. The exhibition is a 3-decade compilation of his cornerstone creations on paper and video. Each exhibit merges into the next with a panoramic feel, as viewers move from earlier works made with the existing technology of the time to intricate installations in the form of large projections. With about 10 video installations and numerous paper works, Odenbach’s work has political force. All his aesthetic considerations, through collage, video, drawing or performance, reflect on profound social concerns: from the perpetual reconfigurations of historical narratives to current issues of justice, migration and freedom of expression. In collaboration with the Goethe Institut Pakistan and print media partners ADA- ARCHITECTURE DESIGN ART, this exhibition pays homage to an important figure in the discourses of contemporary political art.

New Memories – Moeen Faruqi

Moeen Faruqi is a well known, uniquely talented artist and profound thinker with a knack for capturing the alienating nature of existing as a prisoner to society.

His work consists of narrative portraits, with spacey landscapes and disturbing forms. They depict people left behind the times, trapped in fragile facades, suffering from the estrangements of reality.

There is a strange irony in his works. They are representative of the urban paradoxes subjected upon the inhabitants of a city of chaos. Definitely stop by at this thought provoking exhibition to see Moeen Faruqi’s excellent range of art – the show continues until April 23rd at Koel Gallery. Jalebi Express

The Jalebi Express is a relatively newer local tourism initiative. Its aim has been to encourage enthusiasm and individual interactions with our cultural heritage sites across the city. The Jalebi Express minibus departs every Sunday at 8am for a citywide tour that ensures an authentic Karachi experience. Every Saturday (intermediate) and Sunday (basic), the T2F will help you hone your skills on the guitar. Dependent on your level, you can choose to join the Saturday class or Sunday class. Hassan Amjaz has been a part of over 100 live music performances, specialising in contemporary and classical genres of rock. He is proficient in the 10 stringed Banjo and the Ukulele, and is an expert guitarist. He will help beginners on Sunday, focusing on intro level theory, basic scales and chords, rhythm, timing techniques and much more. On Saturday, he will be assisting adept guitar players take their knowledge and skills to another level, through more advanced theory classes, advanced chord constructions, techniques to electrify your flow as a lead guitarist and much more. Whatever level you’re currently at, take this opportunity to hone your craft!

Taichi and Chi Gong: The Cosmic Dance of Energy

This Martial Arts workshop is an opportunity to learn effective techniques of self defense while focusing on achieving a profound internal balance.
