With the PSL Final looming around the corner, our cricket-crazed city is in a state of anticipation. The significance of the event can’t be understated, and it sets the tone for this week. If you aren’t into cricket – no worries! There’s large-scale theatre performances, exclusive live concerts and yet another fully loaded festival. Make sure to get out and enjoy the strange weather this week in Karachi!
PSL Final 2019
March 17th: 7:30-10:30PM
The revival of international cricket in Pakistan may be the best thing coming to Karachiites in a long time. With as many as 40 foreign players touching down in the city for the last PSL matches and the coming final, the PSL Final will be one of the most important events of 2019, and will do a lot to change perceptions abroad about the safety of our nation. Don’t miss out on this giant sporting event this Sunday night at the National Stadium.

Written by award-winning Pakistani playwright, journalist and human rights activist Shahid Nadeem, Baari is a powerful tale of discrimination and violence. Performed for the very first time in 1987 on International Women’s Day, it will be showing this weekend at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA). Bari is one of the main productions of NAPA’s International Performing Arts Festival and remains an international success. Jashan-e-Baharan 2019

Event organisers Pavilion End Club have put together the complete event this Saturday – a jam packed festival with activities galore. On schedule will be an impressive display of illusions and magic, an insane circus show, an all-encompassing pet show and an automobile exhibition. There will be a diverse range of food and clothing stalls, puppet shows, culture shows, a range of carnival games, a fun section designated for children and the main attraction of the day – local pop and rock singer Sajjad Ali performing live. With fireworks to cap off the event, Jashan-E-Baharan looks set to be one of the best festivals of the year so far!
Salt Soirée 30 Feat. Haniya Aslam

Entertainment agency Salt Arts is teaming up with restaurant Cóte Rotie at the Alliance Francaise this Wednesday. Showcasing the music of Haniya Aslam, the event will follow the recent #futureisfemale series and this month’s emphasis on the celebration of International Women’s Day. Haniya Aslam is a multi-talented artist, producer and composer, and will be performing some of her favourite tracks as she takes the audience through her own journey as a musician. With a variety of musical influences growing up, international recognition with her former band and her own recording studio Citrus Audio, Haniya is an established artist worth seeing. The event includes a sumptuous dinner buffet and a range of cold and hot drinks, and seating will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Soulful Melodies – Umeed ki Kiran
March 16th at 7:00PM
Come to the esteemed art and design university of Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture this Saturday evening to revisit the soulful melodies of past legends. Pakistani singer Tina Sani is renowned for her classical and semi-classical Urdu Ghazal’s, and will be covering the famous kalaams of Faiz, Faraz and Iqbal. There will be a dinner at 7:30PM before the main show at 8:15PM. All proceeds go to LRBT Free Eye Care Trust – an NGO that has treated over 40 million patients across Pakistan. To support a great cause and revel in our rich tradition of Urdu Ghazals, don’t miss another highly anticipated performance by Tina Sani.
