With the grand success of a number of live concert events, Karachi’s music scene is catching some serious fire. From the high-rise venue and stunning atmosphere that Youtopia delivered last weekend, the recent homage to Jazz of bygone eras and the incredible turnout at Solis Festival in Islamabad, we can expect some more epic showings in the coming months. With tentative dates scheduled in late April for some more unbelievable concerts, it’s clear that 2019 is going to be an amazing year for music. Brandon Howard – Live at Port Grande

As an acclaimed artist and multi-platinum producer for stars like Akon, Ne-Yo and Jason Derulo, Brandon Howard is a huge draw for Karachi. With freestyle dance moves, a falsetto music style and a close association with the Jackson family that is a subject of constant speculation, Howard is a showman reminiscent of the late pop icon MJ himself. He has already visited Karachi and shot a music video, and is returning for a highly anticipated live performance at Port Grande, in collaboration with ANW Studios. Electrojaxx – Live at Portgrande

Straight out of Karachi, ElectroJaxx is an EDM duo inspired by numerous genres. They sample techno, jazz, hip hop and house, and their sets resound with an unparalleled intensity. Performing live at Port Grande with Brandon Howard, they’re about to drop an epic EDM show this weekend. STRINGS – Dow University Fundraiser

The internationally renowned Pakistani rock band started as college students way back in the late 80’s. Since then, they’ve made it as icons in Pakistan, with a unique blend of rhythmic riffing on stringed instruments infused with classical eastern music. This weekend, Dow University of Health Sciences will be providing the venue for another one of their epic jam sessions. The event is a fundraiser for Dow’s range of fantastic health and educational services: they provide patient treatments, medicines and laboratory services free of cost, and also specialise in quality diagnostic services with much more affordable prices than other leading hospitals in the city. Samifati – Live at Alliance Francaise de Karachi
