Virtue without Vice: Exhibition Fundraiser for ACF Animal Rescue

This fantastic fundraiser at ArtChowk Gallery is an opportunity for all to help more animals on the streets of Karachi find refuge in shelter homes.
Designed to boost funds for the Ayesha Chundrigar Foundation (ACF) Animal Rescue Shelter in Karachi, this unique exhibition fundraiser will showcase portraits of a number of animals that have been rehabilitated and rescued. Proceeds from purchases of ACF merchandise and animal portraits will go directly towards their rescue shelters.
Photographer and filmmaker Umar Riaz, who has done volunteer work for the ACF for nearly 4 years, has taken portraits of cats, dogs and donkeys with powerful stories of survival.
The exhibition is actively spreading awareness about the plight of animals in the city. It aims to convince people to contribute to important causes that support animal welfare and collectively denounce animal cruelty.
Apathy towards the health of animals on the streets and those subject to abuse from their owners needs to change, and the ACF has already done good work to elevate the status of our animals. We can protect them by helping disenfranchised communities living in indiscriminate poverty conditions learn how to handle their animals with knowledge and care. Empowering owners is a huge step in that process.
The ACF currently has an international standard animal shelter, with 30 plus employees providing over 500 animals medical treatments, sufficient nutrition and permanent refuge. They are progressively advancing the quality of all their facilities throughout the country every day.
