This week presents us with a diverse range of events. Nostalgic, live rooftop performances to bring back 80’s feels, stage displays at venues varying in size and exclusivity, an open-air screening of the ageless Lion King… Here’s our best events to attend this week in Karachi:
Karachi Water Sports Festival:
March 22, 23, and 24th: 8AM-11:45PM
This epic upcoming Watersports Festival will be a huge opportunity to get away from monotony and engage in a wide range of exhilarating water sports activities. The 3-day, jam packed celebration near Karachi Port Trust will feature rides on speed boats and jet skis, sailing, snorkelling, scuba diving, dinner cruises, beach concerts and much more. The event is the first of its kind, and will take place on Oyster Rocks off the coast of China Port!
The Lion King – An Open-Air Screening
March 22nd: 6-9:30PM
Enough said! Misa Vu Luxury Events is hosting an open air movie night – of the Lion King! Bring some friends and a cushion to enjoy Disney’s classic of all classics at this special screening in Phase 6. For more details and passes, call 03451128897 as soon as possible.
Devi by Studio J Dance (Australia)
March 20th: 8-10PM
Come to the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) this Wednesday evening for another impressive stage performance. Devi’s 3 artists compliment each other with their own specialities of expression – experimental movement, Bharatnatyam dance and live singing. The play is a journey about letting go off the past, and explores the Sufi saying ‘Death before you die’. Featured on NAPA’s International Performing Arts Festival (IPAF), this performance will be a must-attend. If you’re interested in NAPA’s IPAF events, check out the Ongoing Events to Attend this March in Karachi.
“Où on va, Papa” – A French Play
March 22nd: 8-9:30PM
Come to Clifton’s Alliance Francaise to watch a theatre adaptation of the award-winning novel – Oú on va, Papa (Where we going, Daddy?). The story that won the 2008 Prix Femina French literary prize centres around a father dealing with the challenges of raising children with debilitating disabilities. The ensuing journey is deeply affecting and delivered with doses of humour and cynicism throughout. If you’re all up in your emotions this Friday night, come to the Alliance Francaise for a free entry show. Seats are first come, first serve, so be punctual.
