We are back with the 5th edition of Lahooti Melo on 14th, 15th & 16th of February 2020 by THE SKETCHES! in Collaboration with 'Sindh Culture Department' - A Festival to Talk Music, Dance, Poetry & various genres of Art in Jamshoro, Sindh, Pakistan. Where Folk Artists, Main Stream as well as Indigenous musicians, poets, instrumentalists, writers, filmmakers and keynote speakers from different societies will participate and share their stories & perform their art.
Lahooti Melo is a kind of event where racial and cultural connections will be consciously uplifted between the audience and artists. Its an event to take a deliberate pause and feed your mind, body and soul. Its for art and artists, culture and discourse to intentionally collide. We believe that by creating such events we can inspire social change and begin to transform our community, country and the world. Get ready for 3 days non stops music & let the music rules the hearts because ''We Believe In Music''.
The United Nations says we could have just eleven years left to limit a climate change catastrophe. In many countries, governments have declared an emergency and put resources in place to enable councils to help reduce carbon emissions as a first step to radical action.
PAKISTAN is the seventh-most vulnerable country to climate change according to German watch, a think tank advocating for measures to combat climate change. Some of the repercussions that
we are already seeing are frequent heat waves, floods, melting glaciers, drought and famine. However, our country still lacks the resources and awareness to tackle this head-on as the biggest concern for health, security, and survival as this generation as well as the next. To understand that planting trees and banning plastics alone won’t lessen our vulnerability to the changing climate, influences need to engage more as participants instead of spectators.
