In our vast animal kingdom, few members are regarded with as much suspicion and apprehension as cold-blooded creatures. The public’s understanding of these fascinating animals is rife with misconceptions, with Pakistan’s superstitions and historic lack of informational resources only aggravating the issue. For those intrigued, entranced, or even mortified with the reptilian and underwater worlds, the opportunity to seek answers arises at this December’s Wildlife Experience Center’s Reptiles and Fish Expo. Do snakes have ears? Can lizards regrow their tails? How do fish sleep? What is the distinction between venomous and poisonous?
The nation’s first exposition of its kind, the exhibit will feature an unprecedented variety of species. With everything from tropical fish of the Amazon basin to local species such as the spiny-tailed lizard, to the longest snake in the world, the reticulated python, all on display, the event will allow visitors under careful supervision to get up close and personal with captive bred specimens originally hailing from all over the world.
Tune into the informational session and Q&A to explore a wide range of topics with a panel of experts. From sea turtle propagation along our coast, to venomous bite protocols, to TWEC’s research with local NGOs and universities, the expo’s discussions will feature content for all ages in a family-friendly atmosphere. With entry at just 100 rupees, the Wildlife Experience Center’s expo will be accessible to all each day from December 21st until the 24th, from 4PM-10PM.
