CA Toastmasters Club Karachi Presents: Table Topic Contest 2019

All of us human beings have an evolutionary ability to think, make choices and develop tastes and passions. We all have a multitude of interests – and being social beings, we generally thrive on each other’s company and the day-to-day social interactions we encounter.
Unfortunately, that can’t be taken for granted. There are people who suffer from glossophobia (speech anxiety which induces fear of public speaking) and it makes it difficult for them to carry out seemingly simple conversations. Beyond phobias, it happens to the best of us: when we are put in certain situations, or if the environment is not comfortable enough for us, we find it difficult to participate in discussions, to be a part of the encapsulating group or to be composed enough to lead discussions. Many of us have a tendency to dismiss our own ideas, because we aren’t confident enough in their merits or totality, or confident enough in articulating them and gaining the validation of someone else.
CA Toastmasters Club Karachi has come up with an interesting solution: Table Topics contest 2019. This one of a kind event will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2019 on 7pm at the main ICAP Head Office. This program is aimed at both kinds of people: a. the ones who are confident enough to participate in a simulated table talk and not just be a part of it, but can directly contribute to the live of the conversations and b. ones who find it difficult to do so and can spectate the contest to learn and inspire motivation.
The Table Topics Contest comprises of impromptu speech by participants, and an exhibition for how natural and organic discussions are carried out. With a positive mindset towards table topics, participants compete by shifting focus on improving all of the elements of good public speaking – organization, movement, voice control etc. It is also a proof that by developing just the speaking fundamentals, any person can win a table topics contest.
The chief judge for this contest will be TM Muhammad Tayyab, who is the president of CA Toastmasters club Karachi and an associate member of ICAP. He is known for his passion to learn and apply mind technology to transform lives.

Toastmasters International has been working for a fairly long time to inculcate in the youth necessary speaking and negotiation skills so that they can perform well in the job market, as well as being more accomplished in everyday life.
